wishing for a hand in hand

Holding her slender fingers, the twist of wrinkled skin upon the curl of bones so fine.

Her hands that rowed the Sound. Her hands that made cookies, pies and cakes. Her hands that held my own. Her hands that now reach up to grasp for help.

The hand in hand, how lovely is the touch of a Mother.
